Over $1.6 million awarded to GEMH Lab by TWCF

19-05-2022

As the Games for Emotional and Mental Health Lab enters a new era of transitions and changes, we are extremely excited to announce that the Templeton World Charity Foundation has awarded us with over $1.6 million to share our knowledge with like-minded individuals! The Templeton World Charity Foundation is a non-profit charity that funds innovative projects that push the boundaries of scientific knowledge and help humans flourish. TWCF supports a diverse group of researchers to discover new knowledge, develop new tools, and launch new innovations that make a lasting impact on human flourishing.

Using the grant, GEMH Lab will work on translating our decade's worth of experience in creating evidence-based digital solutions into a practical toolkit. Additionally, GEMH will be able continue its work on one of its most recent projects—XCAVO, aimed to improve young people's wellbeing through addressing their relationship with social media. We will work on both of these efforts through our international academic partnerships with the University of Twente in the Netherlands and McMaster University in Canada.

We look forward to sharing our expertise with researchers, clinicians, designers and artists who seek to create playful and grounded digital tools that promote human flourishing!
